Emojis have become something of a force for equality, from same sex marriage to hijabs to anything else which might not be getting fair representation in the online world. That in mind, it was just a matter of time before the technique was also employed for advertising. Happily, in this case, it's promoting something which is actually directly linked to eqaulity, rather than something co-opting it to sell a fizzy drink or a pair of shoes.
The thing in question is a film, Loving, directed by Jeff Nichols and starring Joel Edgerton, Ruth Negga and Michael Shannon. It tells the true story of the Loving vs Virginia court case in 1967, which effectively rendered the prohibition of interracial marriage a thing of the past.

Because of Loving my sweetheart and I are raising four biracial children who can marry their sweethearts no matter the color." #VoteLoving pic.twitter.com/29pkZNzcDi— JC (@JohnWCoupe) September 27, 2016
Alongside this, putting the hashtags #ThisIsLoving, #VoteLoving or #LovingMovie into a Tweet will summon an emoji featuring the couple which the film is centered around. Many interracial couples are already using the emoji alongside images of themselves together, or even snaps from their actual weddings.
